How to recognize bad quality plywood
Plywood quality is very important when you use it. Below are some tips for you !
Plywood is a huge industry in the world. Many people join this industry as : producer ( factory), trader ( seller / distributor) and buyer ( user). To work well here. there are some tip you must know to recognize if a plywood sheet has good quality or bad quality ( tips here use for furniture grade plywood, other type may different).
1.Bad pressing
This cause the plywood sheet do not have enough strength to hold wood layer together. Veneer will open or as known as “Delamination”.
If this happen to your plywood sheet, it is 100% rejected and can’t be used.
2. Bad bonding
This usually happen when factory use no good quality material. Normally, It must use all A grade veneer. But to reduce price, some manufacturers use B or even C grade veneer. This lead to consequence is that plywood’s cut has hole or over-lapping which cause weak structure.
If this happen to your plywood sheet, regarding to your own use, some can be used, some can not.
3. Bad structure
This caused by many factor during producing & storage process. But after all, they surely are rejected.
4. Fungus
Fungus happens when the moisture content of plywood sheet is too high. This is 100% rejected.
5. Bad cutting
This happen when factory use not sharp enough saw blade, which made the cut not smooth.
